Art II’s will be expanding on their last year of art.  We will begin with a brief review of the skills learned in Art I and move into a longer concentration of painting and a bit of abstraction.  More art history will be studied in Art II. 

It is with joy that we start this year.  The arts aid students in the following areas:

q       Self-definition

q       Developing an understanding of and feeling for the “other”…other ideas, other values, other people, other worlds….especially the work of imagination.

q       Forming connections with other minds

q       Making their imaginative life tangible and communicable

q       Exercising their curiosity

q       Providing a vehicle for testing the validity of their ideas

q       Giving a sense of their frailty, and also their power, as human beings.
